Botox Cosmetic (injectable wrinkle relaxer)

At KarmaDerm Cosmetic Dermatology, we offer Botox, which is a non-surgical option for treating fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a preventative measure against the formation of deeper wrinkles.

The effects of botulinum Type A injectables are initially visible within a few days following application. However, it may take one to two weeks to see the full effects, which may last up to six months.

Hyperhidrosis Therapy with Botox Therapeutic

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating that affects focal areas, such as underarms, palms, forehead and soles can be reduced by the administration of Botulinum Toxin Type A, such as Botox®. This medication temporarily blocks the nerve impulses that overstimulate the sweat gland, causing excessive sweating.

The procedure involves using very fine needles to inject the Botulinum Toxin Type A into the affected area. Almost no recovery downtime and minimal discomfort may be experienced.

Results of the treatment usually become apparent within a week, and the control of excess sweating can last for up to eight months. The results can be maintained with follow up treatments.

Cosmetic Fillers

Cosmetic fillers is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that can correct fine lines, deep wrinkles, and add volume. Some areas that we treat with Teosyal fillers are nasolabial folds, marionette lines, tear troughs (undereye area). cheeks, lips, and chin. Results usually last from 6-8 months.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a treatment technique where diagnosed surface skin lesions are removed by controlled application of a very cold liquid substance. In cosmetic dermatology, it is commonly used to treat unwanted benign lesions, such as seborrheic keratosis, skin tags, and brown spots.

Many skin lesions will respond to a single treatment, although depending on the nature of the lesion, more than one treatment may be necessary.

This procedure involves spraying liquid nitrogen on the lesion for a few seconds. Some mild discomfort may be experienced, as well as the formation of a scab post treatment. However, the area treated should settle and heal by itself within a couple of days.

Electrosurgery

Electrosurgery is a procedure that uses heat from focused radio frequency to remove benign growths. It involves the use of a special device and electrodes that interact directly with the skin. Common lesions treated using this technique include milia, sebaceous hyperplasia, seborrheic keratosis and skin tags.

Some discomfort may be experienced, although local anesthesia is used to minimize it. Post treatment, some redness, swelling and scabbing may be experienced as part of the normal healing process.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are specialized, non-invasive skin renewal treatments that consist of salicylic and/or malic acid. Your treatment is customized to treat your specific skin issue(s), such as rosacea, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, rough or dull texture, hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

In the following days, subtle skin peeling can sometimes be seen, but very often it is unnoticeable. Our peels are optimized to work effectively, while also minimizing irritation to the outer layers of the epidermis. A series of peels may be recommended for optimal results. Peels can be performed on the face or anywhere on the body where a treatable condition is present.
